GOVERNING BODY

Chief and Council of Taykwa Tagamou Nation represent all its members and are committed to fostering positive working relationships. Their collaborative efforts extend across community members, local organizations, various Nation departments, and external stakeholders, including municipal, federal, and provincial governments, as well as intergovernmental agencies. This approach ensures comprehensive representation and advocacy to meet the community's needs and interests effectively.

Elections

Taykwa Tagamou Nation operates under its own custom election code, with elections scheduled every four years. The most recent election took place in October 2021. The governance structure of the Nation includes one Chief, one Deputy Chief, four Councillors, and one Youth Councillor, each serving a four-year term. These positions are filled through community voting, ensuring representation and leadership that reflects the will of the First Nation members.
